Q. How long have you been in Web Design?
A. Since 1997. I started out as a search engine spammer (Yikes! I'm actually admitting that!). Then I went legit with my own e-commerce business in 1998. I learned about what worked and what didn't on the search engines through my spamming sleuthing.
Q. Can you give a guarantee regarding search engine placement?
A. No, nobody can. But I work my tail off trying to get a top 10 placement for my clients in Google, (which is still FREE), under the search terms they dictate, my success rate has been pretty good in the past.
Q. How long before my website is up and running?
A. It depends on how complicated the site is (i.e. e-commerce or just informational). Three of the sites I've designed are fairly large (over 100 pages) so generally speaking it will take 2-4 weeks from start to finish. That includes getting your domain name, hosting service and e-commerce merchant service if applicable.
Q. Do I have any say in how I want my site to look, or do you just work from templates?
A. I NEVER work from templates. I will design your site exactly how you want....even if it goes against my artistic nature - besides you're to Boss! it's your business we're dealing with here so it's either your way, or I hit the highway.
Q. Do you do Flash annimation?
A. No.
Q. What kind of pictures do you need if I'm selling a product?
A. Either the actual picture itself or a high resolution JPEG. I work the photos in Photoshop and will drop out unnesessary backgrounds if necessary.
Q. Do you design logos and banners?
A. Yes, both. Even animated banners if you'd like.
Q. Do you work with your clients to better promote their sites?
A. Absolutely! I encourage my clients to take an active part in their own online business and I can explain things to my clients in simple english, not website jargon.
Q. Will I make money through my website?
A. Like any other business startup it takes time and dedication in order to succeed. I'm willing to help all I can through my own experiences, but ultimately it depends on you. Don't expect to become a millionaire overnight just because you have a website. Look at all the Dot Coms that crashed in the late 1990's
Q. If I call you with some questions will you bill me extra?
A. No, unless you call after business hours - like 2am in the morning!
Q. Will you redesign a website that is already up and running?
A. Absolutely!
